Apps for learning

Apps can be an entertaining way of getting practice in some areas of English.
Here's one which has sections for grammar, vocabulary and spelling:  http://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/en/apps/johnny-grammars-word-challenge

Don't forget "Phrasal Race" to practise phrasal verbs:
I've also got a useful app called "Phonemic Chart" which tells me how to pronounce the different sounds in English.
While I think of it, practice versus practise:

In the US, you can use practice for noun and verb. In the UK, you must use practice for the noun, and practise for the verb. For example:

  • Shall I practice my handwriting?  ( ()
  • Practice makes perfect.  ( ()
Some in the US are now following the UK convention. So:

  • Shall I practise my handwriting?  ( ()
This comes from the lovely Grammar Monster: http://www.grammar-monster.com/
